Veronika Mindal—Ukrainian Singer and Actress—Guest 02/06/2017

Veronika Mindal
Veronika Mindal

Our next Ken Boxer Live guest, Ukrainian singer and actress Veronika Mindal, is not only drop dead gorgeous, but also a modern day Renaissance woman. An actress, a singer, a model, a fashion designer—she’s got it all. In fact, on top of all these accomplishments, she even has a law degree.

Many are familiar with Veronika from her excellent (and very sexy) music videos, one of which, “In Your Eyes,” we present below. Another must-watch Mindal video is “I Shine for You.”

So Beyonce beware. You have some stiff competition.

Jorge Montalvo—In Memoriam—(1961-2017)

We sadly note the passing of our friend, colleague, and Ken Boxer Live director, Jorge Montalvo. He will surely be missed.

Jorge Luis Montalvo, Jr, age 56, passed away suddenly of heart failure on February 25, 2017. Born in Brooklyn, NY, and graduated from Aviation Career & Technical Education High School in Queens, NY, Jorge moved to CA soon after high school to begin his aviation mechanics career at Lockheed.

A true Renaissance man, Jorge found great pleasure playing bass with local musicians, creating innovative video productions, building medical training programs, and producing local TV broadcasts with TVSB. He was so proud of his Ken Boxer Live team and the Community Media Producer W.A.V.E award it received, much because of his efforts directing the show. An excellent videographer, Jorge brought his eye for the romantic to many a wedding, never missing a poignant detail. And as a teacher, Jorge contributed his expertise to train the next generation of media videographers through his latest love, teaching kids at Crane School. Jorge always brought perfection and enthusiasm to his projects.

Although Jorge’s untimely passing leaves family and friends with an ache that only time will heal, we take comfort knowing that his brilliant smile, infectious laugh, and joie de vivre will live on in all our hearts. We are all so very blessed to have known this man, a man who considered friendship one of his highest values.

Jorge is survived by his large and loving family and countless friends. We miss you, Jorge, and may you truly rest in peace.

Celebration of Life service Friday, 3/10/17, 4-6 pm at Crane School, 1795 San Leandro Ln, Santa Barbara, CA 93108. (Traffic can be heavy at this time. Please plan accordingly.)

Gregory Harrison—Actor, Played Dr. “Gonzo” Gates on “Trapper John”—Guest 11/24/2016

“I’m not a doctor, but I play one on television.” Actually, Gregory Harrison, who played Dr. George “Gonzo” Gates on the television series Trapper John, M.D., was a medic in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, so perhaps that statement doesn’t apply to him.

After seven seasons starring as “Gonzo” in Trapper John, Harrison’s next major role was in the movie For Ladies Only where he played a stripper, John Phillips, making him forever more a favorite with women and gay men.
