John Dickson, Website Entrepreneur, Guest 11/21/2013

This week appearing on Ken Boxer Live is entrepreneur, computer scientist, and businessman Mr. John Dickson. John owns and runs santabarbara.com  as well as many other websites. Every year he runs his “Accidental Santa” 800-number telephone center for children wanting to telephone Santa Claus. In addition, John appeared recently on the NBC Today Show discussing how for the past thirty years he and his buddies during their yearly reunions have taken a photograph of their entire group–at the exact same location and in the exact same spot.

For years Ken Boxer has wanted to interview John. Ken says, “He is an amazing person and one of the nicest people you’d ever want to meet. I’m looking forward to our discussing all of his websites and his entrepreneurial ventures.” You may find more about John Dickson here.

(Original air date: November 21st, 10:00 PM, TVSB-17).

Shannon Loar-Coté, Local Modeling and Beauty Entrepreneur, Guest 10/10/2013

Opening Ceremonies

Our next guest on Ken Boxer Live is Shannon Loar-Coté, a former international model and actress and the founder of Hello Gorgeous Models, a Santa Barbara-based modeling and talent agency. Over the years her work, which includes producing and directing fashion shows and art events,  has graced the covers of magazines worldwide as well as locally.  Additionally, Shannon owns a beauty company, Blush & Lashes, where she works behind the camera as a make-up artist and a lash extensionist, specializing in art direction and photo styling. Also she produced the “Blush & Lashes Live Pinup Show,” filmed for a trailer of “Vintage Living” for possible airing on the Travel Channel.

Most of the models at Hello Gorgeous Models work with Shannon in her photo shoots and other events. Shannon’s opening a talent agency in Santa Barbara has fulfilled a legitimate local need that had been sorely lacking. (Airs October 10th, 10:00 PM, TVSB-17).

Businesswoman Vanessa Rivers, Guest on Sept 12th

Ken Boxer Live‘s next guest is the lovely Vanessa Rivers–noted business woman, surf and snowboard instructor, and travel blogger.

Vanessa Rivers
Vanessa Rivers

Daughter of producer Todd Fisher, step-daughter of soap queen Catherine Hickland, niece of Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), and granddaughter of Hollywood icon Debbie Reynolds, she (only half-jokingly) claims her biggest accomplishment is managing to be semi-normal despite her crazy celebrity family. You may read her full bio here.

We are thrilled to have Vanessa on our show discussing her latest and most successful business venture, her Happy Endingz line of Eco Swimwear (yes, we are talking about sexy bikinis). These swimwear have quickly become popular, many suspect, because of their unique, sexy “butterfly cut” bottoms. A quick browse of her web site, butterflies flying everywhere, makes one tend to agree!

Although the word “eco” in her product line refers to the environment (her products are made from recycled materials), she was forward-thinking enough to realize that eco doesn’t have to mean “granola, hippie, and boring”; instead, it can mean “sexy, fun, and cutting edge.” Well, she succeeded. The least-likely words anyone would ever think of using when referring to her sexy product line are “granola, hippie, and boring.”

We look forward to Vanessa’s appearance. You won’t want to miss this episode of Ken Boxer Live. (Airs September 12th, 10:00 PM, TVSB-17)

Former SB Council Member David Landecker, Next Guest, August 29th

Ken Boxer Live welcomes our next  guest former Santa Barbara City Council member David Landecker.  Mr. Landecker is running for City Council again after having had to resign in disgrace in the ’90s after confessing to switching price tags at the Home Improvement Center on Gutierrez St .   At the time his explanation was that he thought the price of an item was too high!

Watch Mr. Landecker make his case to the people of Santa Barbara about why they should give him a second chance.  Also hear his views on taxes and the local business environment.  This show will be very interesting and informative.  Do not miss! (Airs August 29th, 10:00 PM, TVSB-17)

Press Release – August 11, 2013

Do Not Miss!

Throughout the week of August 12th, 2013, Ken Boxer Live presents the special return of guest “Baron” Ron Herron.  A local icon of the ’60s classic rock era, the Baron will come full of interesting anecdotes and private memories of this long-ago, but well-remembered, rock era.  As always, expect Ken Boxer to bring out in him the most interesting and entertaining of these.  First air time showing is 8/15/2013, 10 PM, on TVSB-17.
